Central Okanagan Community Food Bank is the motivation for a friendly challenge

"When schools are closed, the need for Kids Snack Packs and family nutrition programs is higher ..."

This Saturday at participating Save On Foods, Local Rotary clubs are marking their Rotary At Work Day with the lofty goal of collecting 15,200 pounds of food for the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank.

91裸聊视频(It's) because I might be slightly competitive," said Marjolein Lloyd, Westbank Rotary member and event organizer, wryly.

The Kamloops and Chase clubs have been enormously successful in their food drives since 2007, now collecting approximately 70,000 lbs of food twice a year by going door to door. In their first year, they collected an impressive 15,000 lbs.

"For our first time out, we91裸聊视频檇 like to at least meet that goal and since the Food Bank91裸聊视频檚 apple bins hold approximately 800 pounds of food each, I think 19 bins sounds pretty good," said Lloyd. "Nineteen X 800 = 15,200.  Voila!"

In addition to competition, there's also the drive to help out the community.

Regardless, the Central Okanagan Community Food Bank is game.

91裸聊视频淲e love big goals. Bring it on,91裸聊视频 said Ami Catriona, director of community relations. 91裸聊视频淭he timing is perfect as we work to stock our shelves for the summer. When schools are closed, the need for Kids Snack Packs and family nutrition programs is higher and the Rotary food drive will make a huge impact on that. We are so grateful for their enthusiastic support.91裸聊视频

The event takes place April 30 at Save On Foods.
