Keremeos and Anarchist Mountain Fire Departments undergo joint training

The departments undertook a three day course over the weekend

The Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department and Anarchist Mountain Fire Department recently undertook a mutual training course.

The South Okanagan and Similkameen's fire departments regularly stage joint training efforts, including exercises that incorporate other first responders such as RCMP and the Regional District of Okanagan-Similkameen's Emergency Operations Centre.

The training over the weekend between the two departments was a three-day Team Leader Interior and Incident Command course.

The course focuses on strategies and tactics what will make the departments more efficient, the Keremeos Fire Department said in a post to social media.

"Huge thanks to our instructors, Jack Blair and Dan Walker for a very informative weekend," the department said. "Lots of takeaways we can implement in our firefighting toolbox."
