Penticton breweries combine to win 5 medals at BC Beer Awards

City will look to repeat success at upcoming Canada Beer Cup

There was no shortage of Penticton representation at the BC Beer Awards.

This year91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s edition of the event is in the books and breweries from the Peach City combined to win five medals, including two golds. Winners were announced on Oct. 21.

Awards were distributed in 35 different categories, from Brewery of the Year to Innovator of the Year.

Close to 60 breweries were featured on the awards list, including four from Penticton.

Here are the local winners:

Dark Lager

Gold medal- Cannery Brewing91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Wildfire Dark Lager

North American Amber & Brown Ale

Gold medal- Neighbourhood Brewing91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Johnny91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Premium Pale Ale

Hoppy UK Ale

Silver medal- Yellow Dog Brewing91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Retriever Golden Ale

Amber Lager

Silver medal- Abandoned Rail Brewing91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Marzen Bavarian Lager

North American IPA

Bronze medal- Yellow Dog Brewing91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Play Dead IPA

Penticton breweries are expected to be front and centre yet again on Wednesday, Oct. 25, this time at the Canada Beer Cup awards.

Tin Whistle Brewing, located inside the Cannery Trade Centre, is hosting a watch party for the event at 4 p.m.

In 2022, Penticton breweries combined to win three medals at the inaugural edition of the event.
