Celebrate Shuswap has announced it's winter-spring lineup that includes concert/dance parties with The Megan Abel Band, Krstle Dos Santos and her Motown Get Down show and Ethan Askey and the Elevators, all performing at Salmon Arm's Song Sparrow Hall.

Celebrate Shuswap is kicking off its 2025 spring/winter program with a Valentine's Day bouquet of  home-grown talent.

Plan for great loving fun at Salmon Arm's Song Sparrow Hall on Feb. 14 with The Megan Abel Band, who will be serving a feast of feral, outlaw blues-rock originals, spiced up with some funky favourites to get people moving on the dance floor.

Abel, of Salmon Arm, is a vibrant vocalist and songwriter, her performances eclectic and captivating. She'll be joined by the virtuosic playing of guitarists Adam Hokenson and Jon Treichel, creating exciting dynamics. Bassist Neil Brun lays down fierce grooves that drummer Jared Wilman is locked into while multi instrumentalist Alex Ward sprinkles ear candy all over the place.

This explosive group of seasoned musicians is set to make for an unforgettable night.

Doors for this Friday, Feb.14th dance party open at 7:30 p.m., with music beginning at 8.

On March 8, Celebrate Shuswap welcomes Krystle Dos Santos and her Motown Get Down show at Song Sparrow.

Dos Santos is a Western Canadian Music Award winning soul, jazz and R&B singer based out of Vancouver. With an extraordinary voice that is commanding, powerful and rich with talent, her music, inspired by classic and neo-soul, combined with smooth R&B elements, is executed brilliantly; it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s simultaneously elegant, bold and sensual. She'll be accompanied by her five-piece band and their groovy R&B sounds are sure keep the dance floor busy with music from The Supremes, Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight & the Pips and more!

In addition to live performances, Dos Santos is an actor in TV and film, and has starred in The Arts Club musical Dreamgirls, The Chelsea Hotel: The Songs of Leonard Cohen at The Firehall Arts Centre, and created a series of shows called BLAK, exploring Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Black History and more.

Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the music beginning at 7:30.

Celebrate Shuswap's winter/spring series concludes on April 26 with funky, electric boogie blues by Rocky Mountain singer-songwriter Ethan Askey and his band, The Elevators. Having had the opportunity to share the stage with these incredible blues musicians, and before them with British bluesman John Mayall and string-bending legend Amos Garrett, Askey has a strong foundation in real-deal blues. He will be playing songs from his debut album, Walk When You Wanna Run, that offers a fresh take on the funky urban electric blues played by one his mentors, Junior Wells. Not only is his music great to dance to, it also provides compelling, original stories and sounds that are expressed in many colourful ways.

Tickets and further information are available at celebrateshuswap.ca.

A non-profit, Celebrate Shuswap91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s goal is to foster more celebration in the Shuswap by sponsoring dance parties featuring top bands from throughout the region, as well as from other communities and provinces.
