Event organizers said the balloon show will take place inside Okanagan Lake Park at 4:30 p.m. on Jan. 17, as the festival officially kicks off.
Other scheduled entertainment for the weekend includes the Peach City Rail Jam, a snowboarding competition that challenges professionals to show off their best tricks at Gyro Park on Saturday, Jan. 18.

A pancake breakfast with Penticton firefighters and the Okanagan Lake Winter Beach Challenge, which "includes fun on both land and in the water," will proceed on Sunday, Jan. 19. More details are expected soon, the city said.
