Classic rock legends Foreigner is making Penticton one of its final stops along the way of their Farewell Canada tour.
Songs like Cold as Ice, Jukebox Hero, Hot Blooded and I Want to Know What Love Is have dominated airwaves for decades and now they will be played live for the final times when the band brings its Farewell Canada tour to the South Okanagan Events Centre on May 4, 2024.
Foreigner formed in New York City in 1976 and has since sold more than 80 million records. The group91Ƶs catalog of top-10 hits is as large as Fleetwood Mac91Ƶs.
The band hasn91Ƶt released a studio album since 2009 but that hasn91Ƶt appeared to deteriorate any interest among rock-music lovers moving into the 2020s. Streams of Foreigner91Ƶs hits today approaching 15 million per week, according to a press release from the SOEC.
Foreigner91Ƶs tour next year is set to be its last across Canada.
91ƵThe time has come,91Ƶ began lead singer Kelly Hansen. 91ƵWe have more or less lived our lives on the road for almost eighteen years. We have always strived to give you our best and we intend to finish this the same way. Foreigner has a brilliant and increasingly demanding catalogue of songs to sing and I refuse to give them less than they deserve.91Ƶ
Western Canadian cities like Abbotsford, Calgary, Edmonton and Saskatoon are also set to welcome the close to 50-year-old band next spring.
Longtime B.C. rockers Headpins will serve as the show91Ƶs opening act.
Tickets for the 91ƵFarewell Canada91Ƶ tour at the SOEC will go on sale Nov. 17, 10 a.m. and can purchased online at or in person at the venue91Ƶs box office.
