Pop-culture extravaganza Penti-Con returns to Penticton

Penticton91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s celebration of all things pop culture, the Penti-Con, is back for its fifth year this weekend.

Head down to the Trade and Convention Centre on Oct. 21 and 22 for two days packed full of presentations, games and cosplay.

On Saturday the popular cosplay contest and masquerade returns, and on Sunday there will be a charity Dungeons and Dragons game, a talent competition and card tournaments from Yu-Gi-Oh! to Magic The Gathering.

On both days there will be trick-or-treating in the halls and a kids cosplay parade through the convention floor.

The Penticton Art Gallery will be putting on an interactive art events over the weekend, and there will also be art battles and professional artist showdowns on both days.

Special guests this year include award-winners Thermocosplay and Autumns Cosplay, authors Tom Leveen and Amanda Muratoff and voice actor Matt Hill. Hill has voiced a wide range of characters from dubbed anime to western animation with one of his most well-known roles as Ed from the cartoon Ed, Edd and Eddy.

Budding Pokemon masters are also welcome to challenge the Penti-Con gym leaders over the weekend in Scarlet and Violet matches. Bring your Nintendo Switch and your best team to take them on and score one of their badges.

Tickets for a day pass to Penti-Con are $23 for adults and $14.50 for youth, with kids 12 and under free.
