The rains down in the Okanagan Valley are usually a good sign the snow gods are dusting the mountain tops of the region91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s nearby mountains.
However, B.C.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s ski hills will open for the 2024 season later than its neighbours in Alberta, with Banff91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Sunshine Village already open on Nov. 8.
For the Southern Interior of B.C. Sun Peaks will be the first to start up the chair lifts with an opening date of Nov. 23. Vernon91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Silver Star Alpine Resort opens on Nov. 29 with its Nordic trails opening a tad earlier on Nov. 22. Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre is already open. Then it will be Kelowna91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Big White Resort opening a few days later on Nov. 28.
With bragging rights of 5,620 feet of vertical, Revelstoke Mountain Resort opens on Nov. 30.
Fast forward to December and the resorts located a little further to the south will start gearing up for the season, with Apex Mountain near Penticton opening on Dec. 7, followed by Baldy Mountain near Oliver on Dec. 17.
