2-day police presence in Rutland part of 'ongoing investigation': Kelowna RCMP

Kelowna RCMP were canvassing the area on Eastbourne Road and Seaford Road on Friday, Aug. 16 and Saturday, Aug. 17 as part of an ongoing investigation.

Police investigated a home in the 400-block of Eastbourne Road in Rutland on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 16 and 17, Kelowna RCMP confirmed.

Black Press Media received a news tip about "a significant police presence" in the area around 10 a.m. on Friday, and 3 p.m. on Saturday. According to the witness, police were looking for video surveillance footage on Eastbourne Road and Seaford Road.

The witnesses also commented that a private security company also patrolled the area after RCMP departed.

Kelowna RCMP told Black Press Media that the officers in the area are part of an ongoing investigation and there is no danger to the public. 

RCMP did not appear to know about the private security company.
