Another tent has caught fire at the homeless encampment on the Rail Trail in Kelowna.

Video on social media shows a tent fully engulfed on Saturday night.

The Kelowna Fire Department put out the blaze but it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s unknown at this time if there were any injuries.

Another tent went up in flames on Dec. 9 at the Rail Trail encampment.

No one was injured in that one. Numerous tents have caught fire over the years there.

In November 2023, the province announced that Kelowna would be one of the first to have tiny homes to house those experiencing homelessness. The project will be run by the John Howard Society at 759 Crowley Avenue. The village of 60 tiny homes is sandwiched between industrial businesses, and the rail trail encampment, also known as Tent City on Weddell Place.

A second site of 60 tiny homes, also owned by the city, was announced on Nov. 30 at 2740 Highway 97, north of Enterprise Way.
