Smoke and flame may be visible in Myra Bellevue Park in March as there are plans to burn 200 piles of wood debris.

The burn is being done by the BC Wildfire Service (BCWS), BC Parks, and the Okanagan Shuswap Resource District (OSRD).

It is part of a fuels management project supporting the City of Kelowna91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Community Wildfire Resiliency Program (CWRP).

Burning could begin in early March, however, the exact timing will depend on site, weather, venting, and snow conditions.

Burning will proceed only if conditions are suitable and allow smoke to dissipate.
