The Active Transportation Corridor will run from the Westbank First Nation boundary, near Shannon Way, along Shannon Lake Road to near the entrance of Shannon Lake Regional Park.

Construction of the Shannon Lake Road roundabout starts Wednesday (July 24).

The work is part of the Shannon Lake Road Active Transportation Corridor Project.

Shannon Lake Rd. at the Asquith Rd./Asquith Court intersection will be temporarily closed with modified traffic patterns scheduled until late September, 24 hours a day, including weekends.

Vehicles and transit using Shannon Lake Rd. must detour via Shannon Way to Woodstock Drive to Shannon Place and Shannon Ridge Drive. Access will be maintained to the bulk water station at Asquith Rd.

A 30 km/h speed limit will be in effect along the detour route.

Pedestrian access will be maintained, and cyclists are encouraged to follow posted detours or walk their bikes through the construction zone.
