No break from blistering temperatures this week in the Okanagan and Shuswap.

A heat warning is still in effect as a ridge of high pressure remains over much of B.C. including areas the Central, Southeast and Northeast regions of the province.

Environment Canada91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s is calling for sunshine and temperatures between 35 and 38 C from Salmon Arm to Osoyoos this week. Overnight temperatures will range between 17 and 19 C.

The agency notes that the risks from extreme heat are greater for seniors, people who live alone, those with pre-existing health conditions or limited mobility, people with mental illness, and individuals with substance use disorders.

Check on family, friends and neighbours who are at higher risk to ensure they have a cool space.

Resources are available at about heat-related illness and how to protect yourself, or by calling 811.
