Teens rescued from Kelowna's Crawford Falls

Fire crews prep for high-angle rescue at Crawford Falls.

UPDATE: 

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue was called in to assist Kelowna fire crews after two teenage girls needed help near Crawford Falls, on Monday. 

The two had called for help about 1 p.m., as temperatures reached 38 C, and they had failed to prepare for their hike by bringing water. 

RCMP arrived first on the scene and managed to get water to the girls. 

According to Ed Henczel with COSAR, their rope team attended but it was decided that the fire department91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s team would extract the teens while search and rescue served as backup. 

The duo was pulled from the area and the crews were wrapped up by 4:30 p.m. 


Emergency crews were called to Crawford Falls Monday afternoon after reports of two women needing to be rescued.  

Central Okanagan Search and Rescue are on the scene assisting Kelowna fire crews with a high-angle rescue. 

RCMP and BC Ambulance are reportedly stationed at Vincent Place off of Fawn Run Drive. 

The call to assist the hikers was reported at about 1 p.m.

It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s unclear if the hikers are injured.
