Kelowna library celebrates Ukrainian culture with new kid's books

An event to launch the book collection is being held Aug. 23

In partnership with Okanagan 4 Ukraine, Kelowna Stands with Ukraine and the United Way of B.C., the Okanagan Regional Library is launching a new collection of Ukrainian books for children. 

91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœWe are honoured to support this initiative, which not only enriches our library91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s collection but also strengthens our commitment to serving all members of our diverse communities," said Danielle Hubbard, CEO of Okanagan Regional Library. "The addition of Ukrainian children91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s literature is a significant milestone in fostering cultural understanding and inclusivity within our library system.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

The new books will help Ukrainian children connect with their culture and language.

The collection will be launched during an event on Aug. 23 at the library branch in downtown Kelowna from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Activities and treats will be available for children in attendance free of cost.
