Kelowna RCMP conclude search on Okanagan Lake

Police were on scene of the downtown marina most of the day

Kelowna RCMP closed off a portion of the downtown marina on July 6, 2024 while searching the lake for an individual who drowned.

Kelowna RCMP is thanking the public for its cooperation while conducting a search on July 6 for a person who drowned. 

Police received reports around 4:30 a.m. that a person had drowned in Okanagan Lake. 

A portion of the downtown marina docks were closed for most of the day while police were on scene. 

Police successfully concluded their search for the individual in the late afternoon. 

RCMP confirmed the incident to be isolated with no risk to the public. 

Kelowna RCMP was supported by the E Division Underwater Recovery Team.
