Work on the Bertram Multi-use Overpass project will require intermittent overnight road closures on Harvey Avenue between Water and Richter streets.
Closures and alternating traffic will be in effect from Saturday, Oct. 5 until Monday, Oct. 21 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m. on the following routes:
- Oct. 5 - Harvey Ave. full closure 6 p.m.-6 a.m - detour to Lawrence Ave., Leon Ave., Water St., Richter St.;
- Oct. 6 - Harvey Ave. full closure 6 p.m.-6 a.m - detour to Lawrence Ave., Leon Ave., Water St., Richter St.;
- Oct. 7 - Harvey Ave. westbound lanes closed 6 p.m.-6 a.m - alternating traffic in the eastbound lane;
- Oct. 19 - Harvey Ave. eastbound lanes closed - 6 p.m.-6 a.m - alternating traffic in the westbound lane;
- Oct. 20 - Harvey Ave. westbound lanes closed - 6 p.m.-6 a.m. - alternating traffic in the eastbound lane.
While full closures are in place, larger commercial and transport trucks will detour to Clement Avenue. Businesses and residents can expect increased traffic overnight on alternative routes.
Businesses will remain accessible, and safety personnel and signage will be in place.
The new overpass will link to Kelowna91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s larger active transportation network connecting the future Bertram Active Transportation Corridor (ATC) downtown to the existing Sutherland, Abbott, and Ethel ATCs via the Central Green development.
The $12.1 million project is a partnership between the City of Kelowna, and the federal and provincial governments.
