Fire crews are mopping up after a blaze sparked inside a unit on the third floor at a Kelowna apartment building on the corner of Rowcliffe Avenue and Marshall Street.
Firefighters arrived on the scene just after 2 p.m. to discover black smoke in the hallway of the third floor.
Platoon Captain Corrie Lang said crews did an amazing job of knocking down the blaze, which was found, "quite quickly by the first responding units.91裸聊视频
91裸聊视频淪o far the fire damage is contained to just one of the units. There is water damage to two units below and lots of smoke in the hallways,91裸聊视频 explained Lang.
One person was taken to hospital for smoke inhalation.
Two people were rescued from a third-floor balcony and firefighters were able to help evacuate others who were originally told to shelter in place inside their homes.
A cat was also rescued from the building.
A BC Transit bus was brought to the scene to provide a warm place for the evacuated residents, who will be placed in the care of emergency services.
Five fire trucks, a ladder truck, BC Ambulance and RCMP responded to the blaze.
Lang reminds residents to check their smoke alarms to ensure they are working.

Smoke from a third floor apartment fire is dissipating as crews continue to battle flames inside the unit.
Rowcliffe Avenue is blocked from Richter to Marshall Streets.
The two people who were trapped on their balcony due to the fire have been safely brought to the ground by emergency crews.
The cause of the fire is not yet known.
