Kelowna's Audrey Ballsrud is travelling to Keilce, Poland to represent Canada at the World Dance Championships.
Ballsrud has earned her spot on the 2024 World Acrobatics Championship Western Canadian Team and is one of 19 dancers off to the competition.
"This opportunity to represent Canada on a world stage means the world to me, as it represents the culmination of years of hard work, perseverance, and dedication," Ballsrud said. "Countless hours have been spent in the dance studio training regularly to improve my technique and refine my artistry. I have sacrificed social events, leisure time, and even moments of rest to pursue my passion relentlessly. This platform not only validates my efforts but also serves as a testament to the power of determination and the rewards that come with unwavering commitment."
The World Dance Championships for acrobatic dance are taking place Nov. 29 and 30.
"Canada has been quite successful in all dance disciplines at the World Championships, and this is mainly due to the high standards of training that our local studios offer throughout Canada," said National Director of Team Canada Dance, Bonnie Dyer. 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœIt is also great to see the 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜best of the best91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ in Canada, dancers from various studios, towns, and provinces coming together into one team with one goal 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ“ to represent Canada!91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
