Vernon firefighters were tasked with rescuing a person from a burning townhome Wednesday.
City of Vernon communications manager Carolyn Baldridge says Vernon Fire Rescue Services was dispatched to Albert Place on 25th Avenue around 4 p.m. Feb. 7, after flames and heavy smoke had been reported.

A person was rescued from the home and taken to hospital by BC Ambulance Service.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown and is under investigation.

Vernon Fire Rescue was called to the Albert Place fire at 4 p.m. Wednesday.
An ambulance has also been called for one person who was found inside one of the townhomes with burns.
