One person's act of generosity has snowballed into a bigger initiative that will help people in Sicamous who are experiencing hardship this Christmas.
The Sicamous Legion is holding a silent auction that will feature a brand new 55 inch LG LED TV received through an anonymous donation to Sicamous Fire Rescue's annual toy and food drive on Dec. 1. Rather than gifting that to one individual, the SFR will leverage that through the auction, which also features donations from local businesses, with all proceeds going to the Eagle Valley Community Support Society's Christmas hamper program.
Items can be viewed and bids placed at the legion during open hours from Wednesday to Sunday. The auction runs until Sunday, Dec. 15.
