Crime in Princeton is again on the rise, according to a report released at the most recent meeting of the Regional District of Okanagan Similkameen.

The quarterly report, which covers from April 1 to June 30, shows crime is up in almost all categories over the same period in the previous year.

Most notably, violent crime overall is up by 57 per cent, with 66 files compared to 42.

Those numbers are primarily driven by assault cases, 27 in 2024 over 20 in 2023. They are also spiked by instances of uttering threats, which went from 12 to 19.

Property crimes were up 20 per cent, with 104 files compared to 87.
