In the wee hours of Saturday morning, Kelowna Fire Department were called out to some construction materials that had been set ablaze.
It was around 4 a.m., when the fire department received a number of 911 calls reporting a excavator on fire in the 1600 block of Swainson Road, fully involved.
"Engine 3 was the first arriving truck and quickly knocked down the fire," said Eric Simpson, the platoon captain, in a press release.
"No other buildings or property were involved. We responded with a two engine company to the scene, RCMP were also on the scene. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the RCMP."
Kelowna fire Department would like to remind people to dispose of any smoking materials in a proper manner.
