School will be starting as usual Monday at W.L. Seaton Secondary despite a fire Saturday.
Vernon Fire Rescue Services was called to the 41st Avenue school around 6:20 p.m. Dec. 28.
Vernon School District superintendent Karla Mitchell says the fire was small and accidental and caused some damage to a hallway and the music room.
"The damage was localized and did not have much effect on the rest of the building," Mitchell said.
Clean up and necessary repairs are underway.
"School will start up as usual on Jan. 6," Mitchell confirmed.
