Kids will have to wait for another weekend to get out their fishing rods.
The Go Fish program scheduled for this Sunday, May 21 is cancelled at both Shannon Lake Regional Park and the Hall Road pond in Mission Creek Regional Park due to unforseen circumstances.
While parks staff will not be on site with the regular supply of bait, rods and reels, children age 15 and under are still welcome with adult supervision and their own equipment, to try their luck at catching one rainbow trout each day without a fishing license.
The program will resume Saturday, May 27 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at both fishing locations with staff from the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC and volunteer organizations on site. RDCO Parks Services staff and volunteers will be on hand Sunday, May 28. The program continues each weekend until June 18.
For more information about this or other Regional Park programs please visit the regional district or contact the EECO at 250-469-6140.
