One person is dead after a multi-vehicle collision south of Merritt on Hwy. 5 Sunday afternoon.
Cst. Mike Halskov said that investigators had not yet determined the cause of the crash but a driver in the area told Black Press Media that a semi-truck appears to be involved.
The highway northbound was shut for more than seven hours between Merritt and Hope.
The incident seems to have occurred near Larson Hill, about 35 kilometre south of Merritt.
A BC Emergency Health Services spokesperson confirmed that three ambulances and one air ambulance responded to the multi-vehicle crash just before 12:30 p.m.
