On Wednesday, May 3rd, Central Okanagan McDonalds91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ locations from Lake Country to West Kelowna will be celebrating McHappy Day.
One dollar from sales of Big Macs, Happy Meals and hot beverages will be donated to the Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs and The Ronald McDonald House. The theme for this year91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Central McHappy Day is 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœSuperheroes.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
Okanagan Boys and Girls Clubs use McHappy Day funds to support the programs and services at their locations across the Central Okanagan. These programs and services give kids and youth a safe, supportive place to belong where they can grow and develop regardless of the obstacles they face in life.
Central Okanagan McDonalds also supports Boys and Girls Clubs beyond McHappy Day by providing in-kind donations, event volunteers, and job seminars for club members.
The Ronald McDonald House is on site at the BC Children91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Hospital, and it recently increased in size from 13 bedrooms to 73 bedrooms. The house sees about 2,000 families from around B.C. and the Yukon each year. The longest stay at the house last year was 373 consecutive nights. The Ronald McDonald House keeps kids, youth, and families off of the streets. There are many circumstances that can lead families to struggle with housing. Remaining on the street makes it difficult for families to recover from homelessness.
You can support the McHappy Day charities by purchasing a Big Mac, Happy Meal, or hot beverage ($1 from each item goes to charity).
You can also purchase raffle tickets for some great gifts and red hearts purchased will be displayed in the stores.
