The third Thompson River University men91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s volleyball player involved in a car crash in Kamlooops has been identified as Owen Waterhouse from Kelowna.
The three team members were struck on Nov. 29. The crash closed the intersection of University Drive and McGill Road, near TRU, for several hours.
In a started for Waterhouse and his family, the posting reads, 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœOwen remains in a medically induced coma and is in critical condition, in care of the phenomenal team in ICU at the Royal Inland Hospital, Kamloops. He has sustained severe brain trauma and life will be forever changed.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
Waterhouse is described as kind and selfless. He was a former volunteer with the Kelowna Minor Hockey Association and participated in fundraisers and charities like Easter Seals.
The fundraiser for the volleyball player is aiming to raise $50,000 for treatment, rehabilitation and other necessities.
Waterhouse91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s teammate Riley Brinnen is also recovering from the crash at Vancouver General Hospital.
TRU Wolfpack91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Owen McInnis from Guelph, Ont. died in the collision. A scholarship has been set up in his name.
