A Kelowna man is in police custody after allegedly hitting a pedestrian, and leaving her with serious injuries.
The Kelowna RCMP responded to a report June 6 at 6:18 a.m., of a pedestrian involved collision in the 800 block of Hollywood Road North.
"Police have determined that a red Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck, which was pulling a utility trailer, had struck the pedestrian on Hollywood Road North between Leathead Road and McCurdy Road," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"The pedestrian, a 42-year-old Kelowna woman, suffered what police describe as serious however non-life threatening injuries as a result of being struck. She was transported to hospital by emergency health services."
The driver, a 56-year-old Kelowna man, initially left the scene of the collision, however returned and was taken into police custody and remains in police custody at this time.
