The Kelowna Yacht Club's annual sailpast this Sunday will mark the official start of boating season in the Central Okanagan.
The traditional event, which sees club members prepare their boats and head out onto the lake and salute the club's commodore by sailing past her anchored boat, will take place at 11 a.m. Sunday, June 5.
Prior to that, an official flag raising will take place at the flag pole on the Stuart Park walkway in front of the KYC building at 9:45 a.m.
If you want to watch the sail past, the best viewing location will be along the Waterfront Park boardwalk.
Commodore Nancy Thompson's boat will be anchored just off the boardwalk.
