The District of Lake Country will researching to develop a bylaw to regulate temporary farm worker housing.

The bylaw would be in the best interest of the farmers, and others living around the farm areas, said Coun. Blair Ireland. Kelowna and the regional district are also looking into regulating temporary farm worker housing, he said.

During a regular council meeting, Tuesday night, April 4, Coun. Penny Gambell said she didn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t think being consistent with the regional district was necessary.

Ireland said 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœI certainly want us to have a look at what the regional district is doing. If it isn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t suitable to Lake Country, I would hope we wouldn91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t do it.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ

Currently, there is no bylaw in Lake Country.
