Manning Park's Alpine Area is ready to welcome tourists and locals this upcoming season.
With more snow expected in the coming weeks, no one is more excited for the season than Vern Schram, the general manager of the resort.
"Our object is to provide the best possible experience for our guests, whether it is amazing (snow) conditions or marginal. We are doing everything we can to make sure they have a good time," Schram said.
To prepare for the year ahead the resort has had a lot of new updates. The boiler systems in the Main Lodge and Loon Lagoon area have been replaced and the resort also added six new additional cabins to the resort.
"December 14 is the first day we make our six new premium plus cabins available for rent. It is another addition to our infrastructure that guests can enjoy and they are booked solid for all of the Christmas holidays," he said.
"The Bears Bite, (will have) different kinds of bratwurst and smokies to give people a different experience," Schram added.
There is also the annual Torch Light Parade planned, which occurs every Christmas Eve.
"As long as we have enough snow, we do a Torch Light Parade and fireworks. Drop by and take pictures with Santa and come out and have a great family experience," he said.
So far the season looks positive for the resort.
"We have sold more pre-season packages for rentals, lessons and advanced ticket sales than any year to date. We are really excited about what this winter could hold for us."
