Memorial bench lit on fire and destroyed in Osoyoos

Osoyoos Fire Rescue hoping public can help ID those responsible for senseless act

A memorial bench was destroyed in Lakeshore Drive on Dec. 18 around 4:30 a.m. (Osoyoos Fire Rescue)

Osoyoos Fire Rescue is hoping the public can help identify the person or persons responsible for lighting a memorial bench and damaging it beyond repair.

Osoyoos Fire responded to the fire on Dec. 18, at 4:50 a.m., in the area of 3612 Lakeshore Drive. When they arrived they discovered the memorial bench had been intentionally set on fire.

The fire was extinguished but the bench will have to be removed and thrown away.

Police and fire are looking for the public91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s assistance in locating those responsible.

Anyone having information about the suspicious fire can contact the Osoyoos RCMP and refer to the RCMP case file number of 2023-6206.
