A man and a woman face potential charges after Kelowna RCMP recover a stolen car and a stolen motorcycle in the city Thursday night.
Shortly after 7 p.m, members of the Kelowna RCMP Prolific Offender Suppression Team (POST) first encountered the man, who they considered and who was seen seated in the passenger seat of a silver Chevrolet Impala in a parking lot in the 3100-block of De Montreuil Court.
Officers were in the area on an unrelated matter but quickly changed their focus to the man once they determined the vehicle he was in had been reported stolen earlier this week from an address in the 1100-block of Raymer Avenue.
RCMP officers watched the vehicle, which they followed to a parking lot in the 1100-block of Bernard Avenue. There they saw the man get out , meet with a woman, and leave the area on a 2001 Honda motorcycle, which had also been reported stolen earlier that day.
The woman left the parking lot, driving the Impala and following the man on the motorcycle, said police in news release Friday.
Both suspects returned to the 3100-block of De Montreuil Court where they were each taken into police custody without incident.
A 45-year-old Kelowna man and a 17-year-old Kelowna girl faces several charges.
The man faces potential charges of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime and driving while prohibited. He was held in police custody and is expected to appear in Court Friday.
The girl was released to a guardian. She faces potential charges under a provincial act, said police.
