The Penticton Library and Museum and Archives will reopen Wednesday after a flood closed its doors on Tuesday morning.

The main library will be open but the children91裸聊视频檚 library and reading room will remain closed to the public while repairs continue, said the city. This means the cancellation of the first children91裸聊视频檚 storytime scheduled for Jan. 17.

Crews are worked to repair the problem as quickly.

The Museum91裸聊视频檚 brown bag lecture at noon was cancelled for Tuesday and will be rescheduled.

Christmas Eve of 2022 saw burst pipes flood the library with over three centimetres of water.

The flooding sent library staff scrambling to move books and furniture out of the water91裸聊视频檚 way.

By Jan. 3, 2023, the library was back open thanks to the city of Penticton91裸聊视频檚 facilities department and Total Restoration Services - South Okanagan.

Numerous businesses, homes and apartments are experiencing burst pipes due to freezing temperatures. Residents in an apartment on Atkinson Street had to flee their homes on Monday afternoon when burst pipe on one of the upper floors flooded the building.

Osoyoos Secondary was closed on Monday due to burst pipes flooding the school.
