PHOTOS: Weiner dogs, live music and more for Canada Day in Kelowna

Waterfront Park was packed with festivities on July 1

Downtown Kelowna was abuzz with tourists and locals alike rocking the red and white on July 1.

Waterfront Park was the place to be, with plenty of Canada Day festivities hosted by Festivals Kelowna.

Live acts as well as DJs filled the air with music throughout the day, while people could wet their whistle and appetite at many different kinds of food trucks.

Perhaps the most well-attended event of the day was the wiener dog costume contest and race, titled Wienerama.

The evening91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s fireworks were cancelled due to the wildfire that sparked on Knox Mountain earlier in the afternoon. It currently sits at 6.5 hectares, while the cause is still unknown, though presumably human-caused.
