Police continue their investigation into a shooting incident Thursday evening in Peachland.
On May 19 at 6 p.m., the West Kelowna RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the Trepanier Road area.
"The investigation has revealed that the victim was confronted by the suspect on a rural property in the area and verbally threatened then shot in a lower limb," said Const. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"The suspect and his associates fled the area toward the Coquihalla Connector. "
The victim departed the scene and met with police at another location. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries which are believed to be non-life threatening.
The West Kelowna RCMP General Investigations Section (GIS) has assumed conduct of the ongoing investigation. The RCMP believe that this was not a random act and the public is not at risk.
The suspect has been described to police as:
· Caucasian male;
· Late 20s early 30s;
· Large in stature;
· Muscular;
· Approximately 6-foot-2-inches tall;
· Short light coloured hair;
· With tattoos on his hands;
· Wearing a red and grey track suit;
The suspect vehicle is described as a black newer Dodge or Toyota pickup truck with blacked out windows.
