Princeton RCMP are advising the public of an attempted luring of a young girl.

According to Cpl. Kyle Richmond, the incident occurred Tuesday, Nov. 14 at approximately 4 p.m.

A 12-year-old student, who had just been dropped off by a school bus in the Halliford Avenue area, reported being approached by a man driving a rusty, older-model white pick-up truck.

He asked her twice if he could give her a ride home. She refused and took out her cell phone, and the man left, said Richmond.

Police are continuing to investigate, and would like to hear from anyone in the area who might have witnessed the incident, or have video surveillance.

Call RCMP at 250-295-6911.

Richmond said the detachment has notified all three schools in the community 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵœout of an abundance of caution91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ¦It91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s just for parents and students to be aware and then obviously take whatever precautions they feel necessary. We don91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™t want the community to be in a panic, we just want them to be aware of the occurrence.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ
