There will be more of an RCMP presence and police resources on Kelowna streets this summer.
91ƵYou can expect to see an increased number of police officers on each watch, as deployed from other teams within our detachment,91Ƶ RCMP Supt. Kara Triance told council at its June 19 regular meeting.

The Integrated Crisis Response Team will remain staffed with four members along with a mental health and crisis nurse on two of those teams.
The Gang Enforcement Team will also operate in Kelowna and area throughout the summer.
91ƵYou can expect an increase in BC Highway Patrol and traffic services resources on the roads,91Ƶ added Triance. 91ƵThey will be committed to assisting us with motor vehicle incidents that are serious in nature, taking that burden off our frontline response.91Ƶ
Triance told council there will be an expanded RCMP response throughout the city on Canada Day.
The RCMP91Ƶs provincial marine section will also continue enforcement on key weekends at marinas, boat launches and on Okanagan lakes.
