A Sicamous area man is in police custody and facing multiple charges after after being arrested during a break and enter.
Early in the morning on Jan. 18, Sicamous RCMP was called to a residence in Malakwa for a reported break and enter in progress. A man, allegedly armed with a weapon, had gained entry to the residence where he got into a confrontation with the occupants.
Attending officers arrested the man, Kraig Bergson, who has been charged with multiple offences including assault with a weapon, break and enter, disguising face with intent to commit offence, breach of undertaking and possessing a weapon for dangerous purpose.
"We are proud of our officers' great response to this very dynamic situation and that we were able to get Bergson into custody," BC RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Brett Urano said in a media release. "We are working to support the victims at this time."
Bergson appeared in court Jan. 19 and currently remains in custody with another court date today, Jan. 22, in Kamloops.
