DriveBC is warning of slippery sections due to freezing rain on South Okanagan and Similkameen highways.

The provincial road service issued multiple statements on Saturday, Dec. 7, for Highway 97 between Kaleden and Osoyoos and Highway 3 between Keremeos and Hedley.

Motorists on Highway 3A, from Kaleden to Resolute Road, should also watch for the winter conditions, DriveBC added.

Drivers on Highway 3, between Osoyoos and Rock Creek, are also being warned of slippery sections and limited visibility.

Environment Canada says there's 70 per cent a chance of flurries and showers across the South Okanagan into Saturday evening.

Temperatures are expected to stay around 1 C for most of the day, according to the federal forecaster.
