An alleged impaired driver is believed to be responsible for a series of hit and run collisions leaving a path of property damage in Glenmore and Dilworth late Tuesday afternoon.

On Aug. 2, at 4:48 p.m., Kelowna RCMP received a report of a rear end collision on Dilworth Drive at Omineca Place. Police learned that the driver of a black Ford F150 had rear ended the vehicle, causing minor damage, while it was stopped in traffic for construction in the area. The drivers exchanged personal information and the F150 allegedly rear ended the same vehicle a second time while departing.

The suspect vehicle was observed being driven recklessly, at a high speed, as it left the area along Omenica Place.

The truck then struck three parked vehicles, causing significant damage to each, as it carried on through a yard and along a dirt roadway which connects to Bernard Avenue.

The truck also allegedly collided with a gate, multiple poles, a sign post and landscaping through the course of its travels.

The F150 was located and stopped by police on Dilworth Drive near Leckie Road after it had rear ended another vehicle. Officers detected signs and symptoms of alcohol intoxication from the driver of the suspect vehicle who was arrested. He was taken to hospital as a precaution and later released to the RCMP.
