Visitors to Mission Creek Regional Park may notice some brushing and vegetation cutting in a portion of the park later this week.

This Wednesday, Jan. 30 and Thursday, Jan. 31, a FortisBC crew will prune and clear vegetation along its natural gas transmission line right-of-way through the park. This is routine work FortisBC does to ensure its natural gas system continues to operate safely in our community.

This work is not expected to require any closure of trails although visitors should follow the direction of any crew member working near trails that pass through the right-of-way.

In future weeks, crews plan to return with equipment to chip collected debris, accessing areas along park trails. Visitors are asked to watch for any vehicles and equipment that might be crossing or travelling along trails in the park.

For information on its vegetation maintenance program, contact FortisBC at 1-888-224-2710.
