Vehicle sheers off power pole, bursts into flames in Nakusp

Power was cut to the area following the incident

A vehicle struck a power pole and burst into flames on Highway 6 near Nakusp, on Dec. 3. 

The incident happened sometime after 12 p.m. near Box Lake. 

Nakusp fire crews rushed to the scene to discover a vehicle fully engulfed in flames and a power pole split into two, with the top half dangling from the wires. 

Power was cut to the area due to the incident. 

RCMP, BC Ambulance and BC Hydro also attended. 

Crews worked together to reopen the highway and restore power. 

All occupants of the vehicle got out safely.
