The City of West Kelowna has temporarily closed Pritchard Park and Pebble Beach Park due to flood preparation.
All lakefront parks and public beach accesses in the community have been sandbagged and park users are asked not to damage or remove flood mitigation measures.
With the , the city has taken flood preventative measures including installing sandbag walls and bladder dams at Pritchard Park and Pebble Beach Park. These parks have been closed in the interest of public safety.
The city has a further 27 beach accesses which now have sandbag walls installed. Visitors to these parks are advised that launching of non-motorized boats may be difficult and are encouraged to use motorized boat launches instead.
