1926 - 2024

George lived and departed this world on his own terms. "I've lived a good life.", he repeatedly stated with conviction and love once he was accepted for M.A.I.D. On November 8, 2024 in Kelowna BC with family and medical professionals by his side, he gave us his final goodbye. As he joins the love of his life, wife Angela Mostad, deceased in 2022; their descendants, Diane, David, Janet and Roger, granddaughter Katie, great-granddaughter Lucy and his sister, Bernice Keating will all miss him but know that he is now at peace.

George was a prairie boy from Strongfield, SK who later grew up to be an avid skier, sailor and accountant in Prince Rupert, BC. He then found his professional calling to study dentistry in Eugene OR. Dr. Mostad was a well liked and respected dentist for over 30 years. In 1990 George and Angela relocated to the Okanagan Valley where they mastered the art of retirement. George led a life of integrity and joy. He cherished his family, and we are especially proud of his professional and exceptional "everyday" skills such as being a carpenter of fine furniture. The family's happy place was an A-frame cabin on Lakelse Lake, Terrace BC. Everyone, including Angela, learned to swim, sail and water ski at "The Lake". We all followed his passion down the slopes skiing, it's just what we did as a family.

There will be a private family memorial gathering at "The Lake" on August 25, 2025 followed by an extended family and friends potluck dinner. The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff at Glenmore Lodge, Kelowna BC for the care, support and attention Dad received.

Dr. George was ever and always a gentleman to all he knew. In lieu of flowers or commemoratives, simply play a song by Harry Belafonte or Johnny Mathis, sip a martini and share a story about George.
