B.C.91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Kim wins 1st-ever Olympics gold medal for breaking

Vancouver breaker Philip 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Wizard91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Kim has won the first-ever gold medal for breaking in the Olympics.

Kim, also known as B-Boy Phil Wizard, took home the gold medal after battling France91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Danis 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Dany Dann91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Civil in the final at the Paris Games on Saturday (Aug. 10). He won all three rounds.

Kim also beat Civil 2-0 in their first bout of the group stage.

The 27-year-old beat out Japan91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s Shigeyuki 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ˜Shigekix91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™ Nakarai in the semifinals, scoring 3-0.

Victor Montalvo, of the United States, took home bronze.

Breaking, or break dancing, debuted at the 2024 Summer Games. However, it91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™s not on the list of events for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
