A former Penticton Vees standout was recently seen wearing the red and white maple leaf at an annual summertime event.

Bradly Nadeau, 19, was among the 42 players selected to play for Canada at the 2024 World Junior Summer Showcase.

The event 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ” hosted by USA Hockey in Plymouth, Michigan from July 26 to Aug. 3 91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ” helped teams begin their evaluations for the 2025 World Junior Hockey Championships, which will begin in Ottawa on Dec .26.

Prospects from the United States, Sweden and Finland joined those from Canada at the showcase.

Nadeau spent two seasons with the Vees from 2021 to 2023, recording 159 points in 103 regular-season games and leading the club to back-to-back Fred Page Cup titles.

The New Brunswick-born forward, who played alongside his brother Josh Nadeau in Penticton, went on to be drafted by the Carolina Hurricanes in the first round of the 2023 NHL draft.

Nadeau suited up for the University of Maine men's hockey team in 2023-2024, before making his NHL debut with Carolina in April.

His attendance at Team Canada's summer camp means he's in the running to be selected for the nation's 2025 World Junior roster, which is expected to be announced sometime in the fall.
