Kelowna curling team to cheer on friendly rivals at upcoming Brier

Team Deane is headed back home to Kelowna after competing at B.C. Provincial Curling championships with some wins, losses, new experiences from competing at an Elite level, and a hunger for more.

"We were able to string together some solid wins for our first provincial together," said Team Deane Curling in a statement to Capital News after the championships, which were held in  

The team came up short in the quarterfinal game against Team De Jong of Victoria, who then went on to win the entire tournament. 

The winners of the tournament's men's competition will compete at the upcoming Brier which will be held in Kelowna and the women's champions will compete at the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in Thunder Bay Ontario.

"Despite falling short of our ultimate goal of representing B.C. at the Kelowna Brier, we are proud of our performance," said Team Deane Curling. "We91ÂãÁÄÊÓƵ™re looking forward to getting back to practice and preparing for next season."

Team Deane will be at the Brier, which will be held at  from Feb. 28-March 9, to cheer for Team De Jong on their quest for victory.
