The Kelowna Rockets brought the hometown fans at Prospera Place to their feet on Friday night (Nov. 8) with a 2-1 win over the Saskatoon Blades.
In the first period, the teams exchanged goals, starting with Blades' Grayden Siepmann opening the scoring at the 7:54 mark.
At the 13:22 mark, Andrew Cristall scored shorthanded to knot the game 1-1. His seventh goal of the season was assisted by Caden Price.
The game remained 1-1 until late in the third period, when Tij Iginla played hero for the Rockets. He scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season at the 15:52 mark, assisted by Cristall and Price.
It was a light night for Rockets goaltender Jari Kykkanen, who made 14 saves in the win.
Since joining the Rockets this season coming back from training camp with the Washington Capitals, Cristall has 22 points in 8 games.
With the win, the Rockets are 6-7-0-1 on the year.
Kelowna is back in action on Saturday night as they welcome the Spokane Chiefs to Prospera Place, with puck drop at 6:05 p.m.
